Upon the Winds

Upon the Winds

A Poem by Sophia Marie

A sharp peel and the crying stops,

With a long drawn sigh that escapes

Through the dim narrow corridors.

A light hangs low up ahead,

Coming towards the sounds

Of inhale, exhale, inhale, e x h a l e…

Stopped within is a real kind

Of person, that breaths individually

Facing the elements; lungs open.

Clear breath and burning hope,

devour the shock of birth,

that streams you toward the unknown.

Naked and unchanged lies the mark

Across the face, eyes, lips, mouth…of the great blue.

Where under the surface lies possibility.

A very interesting and well written poem. It flowed very well and the word choice was pretty good. Overall, a good poem.
