Ballad Of Jane Doe

Ballad Of Jane Doe

A Poem by SoulCrusader (Yas)
"

Inspired by a friends poem called 'Ode to Kali'

"

She washed herself with vinegar…..

to wash away the strain

to wash away the pain

to wash away the loneliness

to wash away the emptiness

The devil held out a warm hand…..

she lusted after lechery

she lusted after treachery

she lusted after bitterness

she lusted after abusiveness

On her deathbed, the devil laughed and deserted her

All alone she lay, wires sticking out of her

Angels descended from heaven, said “For heaven’s sake let your pride go!”

She saw the light and accepted God…..Doctors pronounced the death of Jane Doe.

I think people turn out the way they do sometimes simply because they are a victim of circumstance. Hopefully someday even if its at last moments they get redeemed on some level!

This was so amazing. I really love this. The emotions within this piece were really well portrayed. I can feel the pain, emptiness, loneliness, and strain that she is feeling. I could feel her death as well. I love the imagery to this as well. Good job. Thanks for sharing. :)

This poem gives you the feeling of how somebody who has nobody to remember them can feel. If you're all alone, or feel as though you are, you are all there is... This is one of the saddest pieces I've read in a good few years. Very well done... =)
