A New Year Prayer

Congratulations, 'scaries' and dears
Against all odds we made it to another year
In this New Year
May our lives and conducts be worthy of emulation
Being true to ourselves as kinetic agents of hope and restoration

And all in pain may have reason to look up to us
And find healing for their souls through us
To move on again in this new year
With some gladness in their atmosphere

May our spoken words refresh as flowing springs
Where people will gleefully drink
To quench their intense thirst
And breath a sigh of relief thankful we're here

May the smile on our faces
warm the coldest of hearts
illuminating the darkest places
Leading the lost to clearer path

May our hands be skillful as those of tailors'
To cut in place of people our toxic attitudes and behaviors
Skillfully fixing broken pieces to complete
whole
To enjoy life and living without having to thole!
