Untitled 28

A Poem by DarkPoet

For once I was a guest of what I thought was love
It had everything I could find homely
Still I was alone and lonely
In the home of professed love

I thought love should make you glad
But most importantly share in your sadness
I thought love should bring in brightness
Comfort you in the dark and condemn the bad

Yet I felt naked cold and on my own
Love had a bitter taste and a bad name
I was like a player stuck in a bad game
And under the burden of its pain I groaned

Some say love is never this way
Once experienced in its purest form
It is like the dawn of a new day
Where you are sheltered from life's storms

I know not which is wrong or right
But I'd love places sunny and bright
And experience love under the right circumstance
Giving love another chance
