Anchor

Anchor

A Poem by DarkPoet

What shall I liken you to?
An anchor ripping off skin so weary soul fall out
A general leading then abandoning its own in battle
Watching unbothered as the wounded from pain and agony cry out

A supposed covering and protection
Dark suffocating depressing clouds on closer inspection
A brave shining armored knight rescuing the distressed in the night
With pleasant gifts of evil hidden in the brightness of its light

A ray of hope for the broken and weary
Caging to kill spirits, and leave others hardened and dreary
How good can be innately evil is a huge mystery
And Love acts, promises of joy turn bonds of misery
