Lies

Lies

A Poem by SoulWriter
"

Inspired by Jason Walkers song Everybody Lies

"

Can you tell me a person

who hasn’t lied?

I can’t….

I bet you can’t….

Lies hurt…

Hearts are broken….

Sometimes the only truth

Are the lies that are spoken…

Do you know what its like

To tell the truth...

At that moment

When it could hurt…

Oh, it's amazing. I like how you capture the depth of life into short words. Great job!

Oh some of the lies I've spilled in pursuit of young men's desires(long time ago)Nice poem, every body lies, has lied, will lie and if they tell you any different, well, they're not being honest.

I like the last stanza. It adds weight to the whole idea an almost feels ominous. The first stanza (to me) seems to insinuate that lies are good, so I was a little throw off by the second stanza eve though it is true. "Sometime the only truth are the lies that are spoken." That's a little confusing as it is. Perhaps in the eyes of the one that the lies were spoken to it would ring true. But for the sake of getting a rhyme, that doesn't seem to work here. (to me).

Still a good poem though that holds plenty of merit. Lies do hurt people. Woman can always sense them and that's why I never lie to a woman. ha-ha.
