Not a very good poemy poem, but has been in my heart and soul for such a long time. I know we know all this stuff, but do we ever Take Time?
What the papers say daily, relentless, radio in meltdown, news, news, more news, wave after wave overwhelming, statistics, figures daily, endless, the same news again and again. So many things. People, factions at each other, TV fuelling emotions.
The noise of people living, the worry of people living, the day to day. The news, the impact, burning, burning. Too much information coming left and right. He said, she said, tensions overflowing, too much worry, fear. Problems, always problems, too much information to take in, without end. So much to talk about, to think about, to deal with, to remember.
Slowing down, taking time, if it can't be fixed why worry? Society is society and will reap what it will! Don't lose life, don't lose minutes!
He reads a lot an inquiring mind, sees things others don't, questions never asked, a deep thinker a sight seeing longer, further, but on and on. Isn't that indoctrination?
But nature, animals, beauty surrounding, to feel connected, to watch, to talk to see all. To switch off all, get outdoors, breathe, immerse yourself! Pain, struggles released, a quiet place of finding peace.
Other eyes to see, time to slow, take time, make time, take in what's around. An easier way, a simpler way, not naive to what is, but not to be dragged under.
Washed away .... get back to living refresh, renew. There must be time for other eyes to see the good, the day to day, every step. A child's smile, their time, path, love of family Don't miss life!
Slow down, look, listen, find the joy, the happiness. Life goes on, what's been given. Don't burn it!
The noise of change of every generation; anger, worry, rage in our streets, rage in our society. Tomorrows disappearing, candles burning. Don't burn days! Just to slow.
Write a poem, thoughts released, music playing, calming to the soul taking you away.
To speak my heart, what I feel, spilling my soul to her; a place to shelter, to rest.
Go outside, really look, listen, long enough take it in .... a happy spot, family, wildlife.
Maybe it is your poetry, it's what makes your heart happy. go there everyday! Lose yourself, breathe it all in, and stay as long as it takes to find peace.
Find something I am thankful for, keep those things in mind. Still have pain, I still cry but I remember to be thankful.
Awesome- this is excellent in so many levels, the words that are rushed, pushed together to indicate the speed, the onslaught and ceaseless overload of thoughts and emotions, often overriding or contradicting one another- how many of us can easily related to the merciless mental clutter being hammered into our minds by media which is driven ONLY by the need to squeeze every dollar out of every tragedy, fight, war, heartbreak, and to drive fear into our hearts like the wooden stakes through a vampire's chest! And then the poem steps back from that maelstrom and quietly resolves into more self controlled thought and introspection, leading to such grace notes as,
"not naive to what is, but
not to be dragged under."
and finally blessing the reader with the words that echo through all ages, the words which would be of great counsel to everyone-
"Still have pain, I still cry but
I remember to be thankful."

Thank you for your glowing review. I had wondered if I had conveyed the craziness or my thoughts correctly or sufficiently, but happy to know I have.
Sincerely, thank you for reading my friend.
Take care
Richard
I think your words here speak the truth for many people. I no longer read the morning news, only scan it for essentials (such as whether a category 5 hurricane is headed my way). You also provide good advice, such as seeking the good things in life, appreciating nature, etc. If you focus too much on the mass shooters, you may become one.

I listen to the news once in the morning, once at night (this covers all intervening times. ) I so dislike the endless commentary by our media.
Hope you are well.
