There

There ...
that’s where I was,
body limp, lifeless,
knowing, yet
not understanding.

Here ...
a wheelchair
where I live,
walking progressing,
not to forget
this journey,
not to forget
time, patience,
of guidance,
of friendship.

There ...
where I want to be,
I walked once,
I'll do it again, but
so many others
to get me here.

There ...
to dance again,
to walk around
the park,
the cd tray,
the things calling
me back.

That Yellow Line,
lap after lap,
after lap,
here ..... for there
my todays, tomorrows
keeping me honest,
focused, strong.

Hi Julie, Nice to hear from you. Glad you liked it. I had my Stroke in July 2020. Am okay and still learning to walk again. That's my working days at the moment!
In the early days of my Stroke, I lost all my words, thoughts, ideas, poetry, everything, all to nothing! I was in Orange Rehab for 2 months. My words, etc came back to stay before I left the facility. So, so grateful we met up again! So, so happy! 😊
Have just had printed my third poetry collection, 'Elysium.' Excited 😃

it takes a lot of will power to live in a wheelchair... it must be at times very frustrating as you describe.... but then if you look at the big picture, life is still worth living, especially if you have someone to help you.

Thank you Betty for your review. Born with a disability, a part-time wheelchair user since '97, and pretty much full time user since a Stroke in 2020. Slow progress, but learning to walk again. Frustrating yes, but gee I do love life.
