Where?

Where?

A Poem by Richard M

I've seen him walk by my house,
never knew his name,
quiet, to himself,
I saw his photo,
he has a name now.

his gingery look,
always cleanly dressed,
scars hidden, his eyes distant.
what stories do they hold?

where does he live,
they say by the railway, but
  where does he go,
how does he spend

  his days, his nights?

how long has it been?

what happened that
he be in this way,
what is his story?
is he from here or
  did he move in
  from elsewhere?

but he has a name,
someone cared once.
where are they,
what's their story?

the other side,
the other half,
where do they go?
how do they live?
eyes that just didn't see.

what of their tomorrows,
what of their hopes
  and dreams?

Your comments are very intriguing...by nature we like to know more about the stranger that walk by us everyday...we are curious people, caring people...so just a name is not enough...we wonder who they are, their backgrounds, their interests, etc...We know they were born, but do we know anything else? perhaps not...but we keep wondering.... I like this Richard...
