Shell

Shell

A Poem by Spottedleaf
"

Heavily inspired by Bush's Glycerine, I wish there was a genre or type for song.

"

I’m never alone,

I’m alone all the time.

Am I shell,

Or just out of my mind.

I need you here,

To tell me I’m right.

Yell that I’m wrong,

And get me to fight.

There are demons in me,

They’re trying to win.

I think they just might,

So let it begin.

It doesn’t last long,
They control my brain.

And now I’m just here,

Left alone like a stain.

Don’t waste your time tonight,

Just for me.

Just for me.

Just a shell of a man,

Deprived of my sleep.

For whenever I lie,

Oh when I lie how I dream.

I dream of a night,

A night when it ends.

One where you walk,

To fed up to mend.

The reasons why,

They ring in my head.

My understanding,

Just leaves me with dread.

Don’t waste your time tonight,

Should’ve just left you all alone.
Couldn’t love you if I wanted to.
Could have been easier I agree,

An old friend in fear and you and me.

Just for me.

Just for me.

Don’t waste your time tonight,

Just for me. Just for me.

Such a bad mood once again

A bad mood once again.

A bad mood once again.
As you fall around me.

A need for liquor,

A wanting of less.

I could not face,

All my regrets.

It might just be fear,

Confusing my brain.

Please just one more time,

To null all my pain.

Don’t waste your time tonight,

Should’ve just left you all alone.

Just for me.
Just for me.
