Butterflies fly away

Butterflies fly away

A Poem by Srishti Jaitwani

Butterflies fly away

They are dreamy , ethereal
And extremely fickle
Much like the crisp childhood run downs which often give us a familiar tickle
The kindle of fond cherished memories puts us to sleep ,
But how the world turned sly sometimes make us weep
The rat race and the hobnob could just go on standby
All that soothes thy ears is mother's warm lullaby
Time is such a wicked magician
It warps whatever it touches
The carefree awry dreams
Crippled by worldly responsible crutches
But the strings are pulled by something divine
So cherish past memories like some swank old wine
Whats transpiring right now
Just live it with child like zest
Cause that's the kind of insight that could make you see the crest
The colourful and free butterfly seen through the hourglass of memories won't always stay
Cause she is a little butterfly
And butterflies fly away !
