Moonlight

Moonlight

A Poem by Stacie Dayton

Moonlit river late at night.
No effort of peace or tranquility can top this.
Shimmering lights dance upon the reflective ripples as birds coo their melodic songs.
Cradled in the arms of my love upon the rocks warmed by the Summer's night, I close my eyes and only allow myself to feel.
The moonbeams paint our faces as we linger in a passions kiss.
A symphony echoes in my brain, my own creation built on my emotions.
The blessing of the spirits that once roamed this spot.
My lover and I chasing our bliss.
Souls entangled within each other and this moment.
The Earth sways us as gently as a newborn's mother.
All I know and all we have I capture inside of me.
I hold on forever to this moonlit night.
