"Pithy"

Hold me very close,
Touch me in your dreams
I'm your love to overdose,
I'm your plan to make a scheme

So many times we've gone too far,
Too many times we've stood at the ledge
I've pulled you back and left the scars,
I've never known you to hedge

You've yelled and vented at me,
Always getting out the rage
I've taken it inside, can't you see?
Turned it into my hellish cage

So as we go about this next day,
Just know that I love you
Kind of pithy to hear, wouldn't you say?
Just knowing that I'll be the one standing at the river Styx paying our toll when it's due.
