Out Of Wedlock

Out Of Wedlock

A Poem by StarSandwich

Blissful nights,
A sounded song.
Her tender smile,
Looked so wrong.
He waved goodbye,
no reason why.
Clouded eyes,
starry skys.
A kiss goodbye,
was all they had.
Haven forbid,
it was so sad.
A white horse,
she saddles.
In the boat.
Away he paddles.
The tears she cries,
are silent but dear.
The letters he writes,
are hers to hear.
Forever waiting,
for a man who never there.
His love for a woman,
he will never share.
Her bump she strokes,
a night she'll remember.
A gun he holds,
a fight in December.
A shameful secret,
for a child out of wedlock.
They both now know,
there caught in deadlock.
