The Game

The Game

A Story by Amanda

It's just a game.

A game of who's and why's and what's. It is simple really, one asks, one answers. But this game has a twist, one the asker never sees coming. The answer is a lie, and to win the game, the lie must be believed. To lose the game, well, it won't change anything. The asker will always go on asking and the answerer will keep on answering in lies.

What's wrong?

Nothing.

Are you sure?

I am very sure.

Are you okay?

Yes, I'm fine. Don't worry, I'm over it.

Once in a great while, the lies will not work anymore, or the answerer has chosen to believe that the truth will set them free from this game. Once in a great while, it does.

Another catch of the game is that in the end, there are no lies. Every lie one made to protect oneself, is torn down. There is no dignity allowed in death.

Now you know the rules.

But you've been playing this game for quite some time now! So I cannot tell you begin, I can only say, "Continue."
