Acceptance

Approaching time of consequence
My reckoning for past events
Though I dont desire punishment
I'm glad I'm alive to deal with it

Life can change in the blink of an eye
seconds can decide if you live or die
Sometimes I sit and wonder why
I was given another try

Did I really deserve another day
in this life I almost threw away?
Either way I'm here to stay
It's time to love, laugh and play

I feel so lucky it blows my mind
so many others are left behind
Laid to rest in an early grave
so why do I wonder why I was saved?

I can't just sit here and pretend
The reason is irrelevant
So I'll just do the right thing until I understand
because everything else is out of my hands....
