A Brave New World

A Brave New World

A Poem by BlueRibbon

With our new world connected,
We show fear of connection.
With our new world overhauled in commotion,
We reveal our true intention.
Awakened in a mental state,
Is the gold painted metal slate,
That drives the heartbeat of a dying life.
A personal strife for a better life,
A mystical being is what we all wish to.
Many of us still stuck in one trivial personal issue.
I'd be lying if I said mine wasn't missing you.
We all now feel some strange entitlement,
That our "rights" allow us to do whatever we want to.
Lessons learned to take advantage of immunity,
A fossilized ideology of community.
A dream for society to understand empathy,
For now we have no sympathy.
What a wonder for us to be,
We're a self condemning bunch of selves,
Aren't we?
