Redefining Grace

Redefining Grace

A Poem by BlueRibbon

A miracle is all it took to sell a dream.
A magic beans for hope situation.
There's too much thought in every motion,
Pretending like I can't hear a missing mention,
Of what I should be doing,
Spouting flash moments of a white picket,
Money filled endeavored life left me with nothing more than unresolved fear of what could have been.
I've made my path and that leads me here today.
With a bunch of words and a decaying confidence that some of you will be awakened and find peace in what I have to say,
While some will hate it with a raw passion because each confined phrase is too crude to swallow.
I wish we could make this reality a dream.
Yet here I am spitting another line just like the night I started spilling ink onto a blank page.
What's left to explore in a world that contains an essence?
What's left to wonder in a world not made by desire?
What we have done to deny ourselves the freedom of choice?
The morning won't hold us back from regret,
Just like the night tells us our pure intentions.
Missing, the lover's diary.
Your own reasons for living become everyone's reasons for abusing you.
Left for dead.
A purposeful mistake with no greater gain than to take a small part for themselves and leave the cracks in the basement floor for your own blood to fill.
Who's to blame but yourself for letting the inside in?
And when these questions are answered,
Do I still walk this path?
Am I as blessed as I am damned?
Just a matter of refocusing ,
My belief of redefined grace keeps me safe,
Readjustment to the virus on this earth that keeps evil viral,
Vital to overcome to become stronger.
Is there another path?
I may never know,
Because this one is mine.
And that is fine.
I will claim it,
Until I die.
