It Is Alright to Forget Me

It Is Alright to Forget Me

A Poem by SyberRose

My Sweet Love~

It is alright if you forget me

but never forget the love

I had for you~

When the moonlight shines upon my hair

and the wind whispers in my ear

I will think of you~

And in the spring

when the purple iris bloom

and in summer when the

heat of the day consumes me

I will think of you~

And In the autumn when

the leaves begin to fall

and they are wind swept

with September

I will think of you~

In the winter of my life

as I gaze into the darkness

as the snowflakes fall

I will remember

the secrets we once shared~

Songs of trumpeted angels

in my heart sing~

The allure of jasmine teases my lips

as the solace of the night unfolds its petals~

I embrace you for the last time

hoping that time will stand still~

The opalescence of the crescent moon

haunt the ancient mission bells~

Beneath the blanket of stars, you and I,

our last night together, a memory~

A memory of your eyes of ocean blue

Your voice whispers your love to me

our last night of sweet jasmine, let it be~

Trumpeted angels in our hearts, play on

The moon and passionate nights could be ours

but the ancient mission bells toll adieu~

It is alright if you forget me

because I will always remember you~

SyberRose
Poetic Heroics asked me to read Pablo Neruda's poem...Do Not Forget Me, and
challenged me to write a poem like he also did....thank you for reading.

wasn't sure of the "overuse" of the word jasmine; but at the end of reading decided it lent strength to the scent; the mission bells to the sounds and the rest to a soft acceptance...men find it easier to walk away ...sad but true...E.

You Rose (excuse me) - to the challenge indeed SR! Its a really interesting thought that feelings transcend relationships because the relationship inevitably ends but perhaps the feelings live on. I remember reading a similar theory that (now don't laugh because it is a beautiful theory - even though its completely OTT) crop circles were created by the energies of collective thoughts.

Enough of my waffle ... well done Rose, enjoyed it immensely X

The way you started and the way you ended was completely in sync. Men are mortal but not Love and Emotions. I enjoyed reading it:)

thank you so much and glad you enjoyed...Rose:)
except for a feeling of overuse of the word "jazmine"--this really worked to show that undying love someone might have for another...no matter what , i won't forget you---even if you move on and forget me.

the lasting impression a love can leave...certainly conveyed in this lovely poem.

I have never read Pablo Neruda. I will have to look him up. Your words are always so soft, Rose. Soft and dreamy. I love that about your work. Angi~

A beautiful write, how even though you forget me, your presence will always linger within my heart. I personally do not prefer this type of style, and perhaps its because I've learned not to appreciate this format. Maybe its like coffee, how I'll come to enjoy it more as I age. Lovely write, amazing painting, and enjoyed. :)

Once again, you prove why you are one of the elite writer's here. So very well done! The perspective enhances the meaning of the other pieces, giving body to them all. I'm honored to be a part in any way of the process of this piece. In the same instance, you've humbled and inspired my pen hand. *giving applause*
