Message in a Bottle

Message in a Bottle

A Poem by SyberRose
"

Inspired by Vincents Prose Poem

"
Dear Friend,

If you should find this message on a distant shore

somewhere on an island of no return;

Please know my words have traveled a long way

upon the waves of turbulence,

in the heat of the sun and the light of the moon~

I was calling to you from the crest of the waves

waiting for you to find me.

Hold this bottle in the warmth of your hand

because it was a long cold journey

this thing called life~

I was just a soul like you,

but my life is almost over and these words

you read breathes new life into me~

Remember when there is no one to love you;

feel my words wrap around your soul

because I know now that you found

“my message in the bottle”

The spirit in which this message brings

will forever live and breathe in your heart~

If you have ever loved and lost

and tasted fruit of the forbidden tree

remember life will go on, and the moon

will always shine and maybe next time

they will be worthy of you~

And if you don't find that special someone

remember you still have a chance;

because I'm afraid it is too late for me.~

Next time you have a romantic dinner;

light a candle within this bottle

so that I may smile within the flame

and dance within the shadows.

Love,

Blue~

"upon the waves of turbulence,
in the heat of the sun and the light of the moon" superb imagery as usual Rose. I could literally see the little greenish bottle with a cork in bobbing among the white horses.
I love your work

Wow.
This is a magnificent write. You have brought tears to this old lady's eyes...they are sad tears, for love long lost...but they are happy tears, too.
Thank you for posting this beautiful piece, and sharing it with us.

Thank you for those nice compliments...I appreciate your visit tonight...Rose:)
This is beautiful, Rose. To receive such a message... would be to never feel alone. Ethereal, romantic, amazing piece.

Next time you have a romantic dinner;
light a candle within this bottle
so that I may smile within the flame
and dance within the shadows.

I love this imagery. Spectacular write!

Thank you so much Rita...i'm really happy you enjoyed this piece...Rose:)
third stanza...."these words you read breathe new life into me"

this is hauntingly beautiful...and reminds me of what my therapist often said to me about my three failed marriages...they were the wrong people...and you will find someone who is for you...i hate to use the word "worthy"--i think that problem is more within ourselves...we have to go for what we need...and feel we deserve the best.

wonderful poetry, you are consistent.

WOW, ( Thank you Vincent for pointing me in the direction)
sometimes when I wander in somewhere out of nowhere I see thoughts
spun onto words I know from whispers I've sent on the wind...
