Message in a Bottle

Message in a Bottle

A Poem by SyberRose
"

Inspired by Vincents Prose Poem

"
Dear Friend,

If you should find this message on a distant shore

somewhere on an island of no return;

Please know my words have traveled a long way

upon the waves of turbulence,

in the heat of the sun and the light of the moon~

I was calling to you from the crest of the waves

waiting for you to find me.

Hold this bottle in the warmth of your hand

because it was a long cold journey

this thing called life~

I was just a soul like you,

but my life is almost over and these words

you read breathes new life into me~

Remember when there is no one to love you;

feel my words wrap around your soul

because I know now that you found

“my message in the bottle”

The spirit in which this message brings

will forever live and breathe in your heart~

If you have ever loved and lost

and tasted fruit of the forbidden tree

remember life will go on, and the moon

will always shine and maybe next time

they will be worthy of you~

And if you don't find that special someone

remember you still have a chance;

because I'm afraid it is too late for me.~

Next time you have a romantic dinner;

light a candle within this bottle

so that I may smile within the flame

and dance within the shadows.

Love,

Blue~

I have no words. This poem is inspiring for those who have loved and lost, yet it is so painful to move on. It brought me mixed feelings. The last stanza is amazing, the images and the pain. Keep doing the marvelous job. All the best. :)

Rose my dear gifted poet, I added 4 pieces this morning to my collection. Its a love story about two young lost loves from the past, it all got started with my meeting one early morning with an apparition on a Kentucky back road a few years past. I was inspired to pen 3 more pieces ending it with "His Message in a Bottle" penned to his love Laura. Your beautiful poem you created here reminds me of the deep feelings two people can have from afar. I pray that every message placed in every bottle set to float is discovered and read with deep thoughts as to who penned the words and why. Thank you for sharing your work, I put it in my library for further reading.

so sad ... i tend to be on the hopeless romantic side of life and hate that the bottle's auther is at the end of life and pining for true love ... just so melancholy ... "light a candle within this bottle" my goodness your poem moves me ...E.
