French Sonnet

I listen to the raindrops fall

and I remember long ago~

The love of you ~ I use to know

 the rain refreshes my recall.

Your eyes ~ your lips and you so tall,

your voice ~ your laugh ~ your heart aglow

I listen to the raindrops fall

and I remember long ago.

Whisper of your sweet words and all,

my love for you in heart still flow~

The gift of love I did bestow

in the arms of a moonlight shawl~

I listen to the raindrops fall,

and I remember long ago.

I love snowfalling, each unique snowflake like a special memory:)
Longfellow said "In every life a little rain must fall...". Ireland gets a lot.
A brilliant piece Rose - like a time/space travelling device one can see a girl (not unlike Catherine Deneuve) sitting on a wrought-iron chair, sipping coffee, at a cafe along the Avenue des Champs-Élysées under an awning, remembering....and softly smiling.
Great writing SyberRose.

you too Rose!
I listen to the raindrops fall and I remember long ago. I love this, like a sweet echo it finds me again and again. Wouldn't it be nice if we could look to the future of love instead of always having to search the past for our fondest moments? Very nicely done Rose.
