A Celibate Moon

A Celibate Moon

A Poem by SyberRose

They walked along the moonlight beach

as salty waves caressed the shore

Savoring each precious moment

for each other they did adore~

They lived beneath a celibate moon

til passion in shadows did beckon

And as the ocean softly whispered

sweet nothings in still of night

Footprints in ivory sands

Slowly disappeared from sight~

Behind the dunes of sandy beach

they shared forbidden love

Until the wingspan of the dawn

                appeared like a turtle dove~

They embraced their chance

to share bronze bodies

a tango of sweet romance~

As they tasted of loves salty fragrance

they shared essence of their sun dance.

You are welcome.....
Such a romantic and sensual poem in the most poetic. I especially like the beach imagery (I love the beach! not to swim or lounge, but just to be part of the mood and environment). Beautiful poem!

"Behind the dunes of sandy beach
they shared forbidden love"

That forbidden love...
Today they're celebrating the precious moment, only to embrace tomorrow's reality. For me, there's a bittersweet effect of this piece... as I feel how love conquers two hearts but they won't celebrate every moment with freedom since it's forbidden.

Your poem is crafted well, Rose. I enjoyed reading it.

Hi Rose. A beautifully romantic write about this forbidden love. Heartfelt and magical. Skillfully crafted free style metered rhyming poetry which I enjoy. Imagery is good as are the descriptives. Through the lens of your eye, you paint a vivid picture of lovers on the shore under a 'celibate' moon that any reader can appreciate and see in their mind's eye. Flow is good; line to line transition and breaks are done well. Nice rhythm and emjambment. Nice use of metaphor and simile. Rhyme is nicely done. A nice mix of feminine and masculine end line rhyme that is executed well in this piece. Deep expression of emotion. You express their passion, and the passion of the sea caressing the sandy shore with beauty in this piece. Good word choice. Good closing lines. Well penned and a much enjoyed read. Write on!
