The Pianist

A soft melody, playing in the night

The keys dropping, shining in the light

Black and white, evenly aligned

Hearing the thoughts, of a sad lost mind

Confused on what to do, or even where to start

Roaming the world, for music from the heart

The despair so sudden, and the keys so low

A fading comfort, in the music so slow

Life of darkness, deeply heard in sound

Searching for truth, that can never be found

Slightly off key, but quickly set back

Looking deep down, to keep it set on track

The balance of music, so strangely hard to find

In a world of sounds, and thoughts are left behind

But as that piece is found, and slowly played through

We finally find joy, in places we never knew

this is really great my friend,how you could fathom deep
the smooth cadence of everything ,the keys of piano ,the words of a writing
the pieces of a thought put together,they are all one in all
how they synchronize with your mind,it starts slowly
to pull your thoughts all to any direction they like
they gow here and there ,high up then so down below
its like a road known all the way,but only an artist could tell you where to start
and how to follow ,and tell you in advance where will you reach
some sublime place no one dared to go,where all is harmony and peace
its one language ,one world ,and none else that we should see..

definitely a great poem, I see the connection you made to the one I'd written! The one part that I'd probably adjust, myself, would be the lines "slightly off key, but quickly set back, looking deep down, to keep it set on track". I feel like the repetition of the word set is out of place flow-wise. Otherwise, it's really well done and carries a strong emotion throughout it's entirety :D

Utterly captivating from the start! I particularly enjoyed the structure you gave the this, from despair to finding comfort in a piece of music played just right, emphasized with the rhythmic rhyme scheme you used. That you set this at night adds to the overall sense of drama, with the moonlight providing a mysterious, yet inadequate lighting with which to read the music. Brilliant poem!

music will always be a comfort when we are sad or in a state of despair. especially if you play the instrument yourself. you will become immersed in it and become lost in the music that you will feel better about your pain. excellent poem.
