Come and Go

Come and Go

A Poem by Sylvia Ransom
"

Something I wrote really quick. I had a few phrases stuck in my head all day, and this is what I have so far.

"
What a fool, what a fool I have been,
I hoped for the best and fell yet again,
I should have known you'd be like the rest,
You come and you go, ripping my heart out of my chest.
I give and I give only asking for love,
But you come and you go and leave me alone,
I'm starting to see the wretched pattern forming,
Maybe there's no love left in this world for me.
I wish I had the energy to scream,
But there's nothing left in me,
A silent cry from my soul,
And my heart's become too cold.
What can I say, what can I say,
All this is, is another heartbreak,
Build me up and break me down,
Just come and go, just walk away.
