A Tragedy

A Tragedy

A Poem by Sylvia Ransom
"

Just some feelings towards love...

"

Once I believed in good people,

And once I believed in love,

I once believed you were a great person,

I believed that our love was good.

Watch as my hopes slip away,

And the sun gives way to a darker day,

All moral values disintegrate

There’s no hope in saving me,

It’s already too late.

My heart was once so full of love and joy,

Now all that remains is ashes and soot,

Useless and broken,

Caused from our words unspoken.

Gather the ashes,

Clear the dust,

My tears will wash away the remaining rust.

I’ll sit here and force a smile,

Make it seem that I’m happy for awhile,

Until I break,

And I start to go insane.

 Don’t touch me!

Don’t even bother,

It’s not your fault,

That I’m going under,

Drowning every day,

With so much left to say,

The only words I know,

I told you a long time ago.

I love you,

I’m sorry I wasn’t string enough,

Sorry I wasn’t what you needed,

Sorry that my heart couldn’t take this beating.

A powerful and strong poem of disappointment and sadness. Hard to find true love in this wild and crazy world. Most people learn too late to appreciate the sweet taste of love to late. I could feel the sadness and desire to know peace again. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

I am me. I am not your friend, I am not your enemy, I am myself, and I won't ever change because I am who I want to be. If you don't like that, well too damn bad. I have been pushed around and lied to.. more..
