Mindless Clockwork

Mindless Clockwork

A Poem by Mike L. Smyth

I stand by watching the tides of life

Wars rage on, cycling history

Humanity in its ignorance striking out

Once more leading to nothing

And nothing returning us to the beginning

We watch as redundency unfolds

As we turn our backs away

And as we choose to just ignore

What we have is what we don't see

My desire is to be apart from the world

And the world's desire is to be with me

Being oblivious is an immortal virus

Spreading to everyone, leading to our demise

I first of all must say that your writing style is very different and unique from other writers present here!
I found this write really very much interesting and to the point!
Simple, straight but indeed very much vivid and complexed in its own way!
Great work!

...I loved this... It was simple and yet profound in it's own way... This was lovely, and definitely food for thought. Though I did catch a typo, shouldn't "What we have is wat we don't see" say "What we have it what we don't see"? o.O

anyway, great work. This was lovely.
