Graveyard Divorce

Graveyard Divorce

A Poem by Emily Irene.
"

Really old - May 2006.

"

Ashes to ashes
and dust to dust,
one more marriage
with no more trust.
Children torn apart,
fell away in a wind of cries.
They had no time;
to their childhoods they said goodbyes.
All is gone now;
never coming back.
But why?...

"All we ever did was sin..."

I like this poem. The title is very gritty and foreboding and I think it works well with the very last line which is harsh, slightly jarring and lacks the ironic jovial delivery of the rest of the poem. My main suggestion is that I think some of the lines could be shortened. Mainly just the 6th and 8th lines. I also think shortening them will help the flow. Anyway, good work and I enjoyed it.
