Insence

Insence

A Poem by What happened to simple old me?

'Do you ever take food into your room?'

'Yes'

'Then what do you expect, for the bug to lie dormant?'

You caress my soul, though it hides. Exchanging favours

with eachother, I shall give it a month - before your affection

can no longer be sheltered by your height. A flavour and touch,

a tune sauntering with our contrast, though many times, we too saunter.

A magnificent red spilling out of your eyes, a lustful minted green in mine.

And a last prevented shiver as we're taken with time from the nearing winter's night sky

to a familiar, tepid, spice.
