Heart Song

Heart Song

A Poem by T.B. Odin

Heart song.

As I sit in the pallid moon light,
At one with the cool breeze heaven sends.
I hear a voice in my broken heart,
But it gives my pain no easy end.
The words that it whispers,
Brings soothing tears to my eyes.
With reluctance my heart still beats,
For my love will not die.
My heart bleeds tears of sorrow,
For the time I have lost
The pain I can afford,
    But loneliness is my cost.
As the stars twinkle brightly,
I see a satin blanket in the sky.
Memories of your smile flutter to me,
With the sparkles in your eyes.
Heaviness grows upon me,
As I smell the perfume that you wear.
Chills crawl through my body,
When I remember the highlights in your hair.
Now the softness of your skin,
I feel it at my fingertips.
Then your lovely name breaks me,
While it slowly slips across my lips.
I call out to the empty darkness,
For you to come be by my side.
With you gone I’ll never forget,
    The way I feel tonight.

A cry out in pain. the reader suffers every word with you. So deep and touching. Every line fraught with memories you dearly hold on to.
Sad piece, but well written.
