Something I wrote for one of my friends at WritersCafe.
After careful consideration, I decided to share it with you all.

I have found myself drawn to this work.
For some strange reason I see something in it that is familiar to me but just out of tangible reach by my minds eye.
I can not grasp just what it is.

Let me enlighten you...In 2001, I was shot in the chest, it was not the first time either. Misfortune or what I like to say anymore is Evils endless quest to remove me has found me more than seven times. Each time I experienced death, something stayed with me, something became more evident and whatever it is, it is good but has some meaning undiscovered by me yet. The 2001 incident left me dead in the local hospital, but I came back. I was air-lifted to a trauma center 40 miles away. In flight one of my lungs collapsed and before they could land I flat-lined again. In a lower altitude, I was revived. The emergency team at the center was prepared for my arrival and started to work on me immediately. One of the tests they had to do was an EKG which with dye they would find ruptured arteries and internal bleeding. Shortly after injecting me they found that I had a severe allergic reaction to the dye. I flat-lined again. This time all seemed lost. There was no blood available for me and most of mine was gone, the wound could not be closed up and the doctors were at their end.
As you can see though I am here.
When I awoke in the Hospital, the doctor told me He had nothing to do with saving my life...My body was able to live of off six pints of liquid provided through IV so my heart had enough to pump while my body regenerated its own blood supply.
I actually healed quickly and was out of the hospital in a few days.
Something more vivid was with me.
Something that has changed my outlook, beliefs and convictions.
Something I have yet to share as I do not completely understand it as of yet.
But I assure you it is all good, and you can accept it with open arms....
I no longer fear death,
I fear no evil,
I am legend.
I have been filled with something.
Knowledge is my power,
hope is my weapon,
I have been filled by something.
I am what I am......
