Wondering Bee

Wondering Bee

A Poem by T.S. Ulmus

The bee meets the flower
Most gentle of lovers
you hover over me
And land for a bit
Hopping dew dappled petals
for hours
The sweetest of kisses
What powers you have
Sweet and sublime
Dining on pollen by day
And honey at night
You might just stay
You'll lay close and I'll say
"Please don't take flight"
But away you will go
And I will know
That other flowers await you

I realize that the gender roles get odd when you read into the metaphor and the biology of the act. So, don't overthink it. Or do, your brain is your business.

This is such a sweet little poem, Ts, I'm honestly in love with it... The author's note made me laugh, "Or do, your brain is your business". The bee metaphor was so sweet...but, forgive my brain, it kinda reminds me of a prostitute's customer that fell in love with her and sees her regularly (yk, for "business") and he begs her not to go, but he knows she has business with other customers to attend to... *Smiles* This was a cute little poem :) Thank you for sharing :)

Ah, how delightful, though the bee will always take flight and the flower shall remain grateful for those moments. Wonderfully visual no notes needed TS :) Nature reminding us humans of the bigger picture.

`Your author's note isn't necessary. The poem is the explainer of itself. Your analogy is perfect and plainly rendered. This is one of the nicest things I've read here you should be proud to be its author.
