Why

Why

A Poem by T.S. Ulmus

Why even have a sky
if you can't cast your dreams into it
and have them rain back as memories?
Why have a moon unless howling madness is an option?
Why have tears unless they flow to the endless Sea of sorrow that drowns every soul?
Why have dreams if they can't be woven into the tangled fabric of withered passion?
Why do we have fears if not to ripple through us and cripple us to a sobbing mess?
Why have thoughts if not to draw us into swirling hairy nonsense
Why have touch if not to be touched

This is such a thought provoking poem. So many ways to interpret each why, if you choose to do so at all. I thought of the first part as saying memories to be the real reason for pursuing dreams.

Questions without answers. I very much enjoyed the varied imagery this little poem gave me. More so it asked many questions and as I leave this page I will be reflecting on them and pondering. I like poems that do that. Food for the soul.

I try to swerve into a curve that's not rutted by the thoughts of others while clearing the obstacles of the mundane. I like receiving read requests for poetry, but... ya know, good stuff. more..
