The Unusual Usual

The Unusual Usual

A Poem by TTBoy28

I gave you time

And with a warning shot

you parted my red sea

the way you crossed your heart

When the flooding did stop

my house was made sanctuary

where all could rest

and dream away their fears like a fairy

Why should I deny you

For you are the one cause

the stars refuse to shine

And Caspian can’t reign supreme

Drape me with your dark veil

then earth me as if cowardly

before speaking kindly in air

of what you believe we did share

Lo, when your presence fades

Time will serve you no more

Should all memories of us wash ashore

May our tale be told in folklore

Say a little prayer

It’s the least you can do

May someone choose to forgive you

Out of the wild true blue
