Forever Beautiful, Beauty Queen

Forever Beautiful, Beauty Queen

A Poem by TTBoy28

Day by blue night

Toss and turn for a fight

Back porch light on

No Jesus just Ron

Picture over the fireplace

Can’t make out the beauty queen face

In the eyes of the beholder

Some would say she’s older

And if she has to use her knees

There is no time for tears or pleas

Make a wrong move

Twice she could lose

And while praying in church

She pulls tithes from a Tory Burch

Only to find tissue

With a message from Heaven that says, “I Miss You”

She wants to get back there

But she doesn’t know where

Her spirit is not like her soul

Can someone make a diamond from all her coal

Can she take communion

What offers a better union?

Will she ever be forgiven

If she keeps on living

The only seat she knows

Plays with her sore tip-toes

The pillow she uses

Comforts the new bruises

She prays for sleep instead of rest

The body knows what’s best

Clean sheets on a clean bed

How ashamed to ask that of Father Fred

The bells her ears do hear

Makes her think she’s nearer

The stars behind her eyes

Come from the promises and lies

She used to thank God with pleasure

Now, holy water can be no treasure

Beauty Queen and her dream

Eyes cry a silent scream
