James

James

A Poem by TTBoy28

James said, “Hello”

Followed by a warm blow

Always thought he was in the know

My how the times flow

Such a big man

Boy, he could fool them all

To a child he would lift his hand

That’s how mighty James would fall

Take away a tisket, a tasket

May you build your own casket

Abuse your God-given power

Only He can ease your final hour

Though he expressed sorrow

The jury thought different

Begging to not see tomorrow

While they flashed his child’s name in cement

Behind steel bars

The messengers made him see stars

Oh, they played games with James

Made him shout God’s names

James did what he was told

They all laughed when he should be bold

Took a child’s life for granted

Now it’s his body that’s slanted
