Past Out

Past Out

A Poem by TTBoy28

Looking like a 60’s pinup

When the full glass pipe hits

Her lips go up

Stirring the flame

She forgets her own name

Listening to the angels sing

The girl forgets her wedding ring

Fall on her back

She has a heart attack

Can’t get them off

But she begins to cough

Feeling no pain

Too late to go insane

With insides torn to shreds

Laughter shrieks from the heads

The more they feed her

The more they need her

Whoever’s the true believer

Will be the griever

But then, Is it enough to leave her?

When will she grow

Does anybody know

Even after she’s sore

She reaches for the candy store

Got a reason to live

A home where they just give

How much more is enough

Before she sells her stuff

The 60’s are in the past

One wrong hit, she won’t last

How long will tears and anger flow

Until she’s six below

Who’s more on bended knees

The ones saying, Thank You

Or the ones saying, Please

Lipstick covers the scars

Makeup welcomes the stars

Such a travesty

To dethrone her majesty

The company she keeps

Is what she reaps
