Shorts with Pockets

Shorts with Pockets

A Poem by TTBoy28

It’s not just a photo of you

I carry around

In hopes of you staying true

While you place me in lost and found

It’s not just the joy you bring

That makes me want to have you always

It’s the song you make my heart sing

To comfort me through my nights and days

I could hold your picture-perfect weight on my shoulders

Or store it around my neck in lockets

It could be an uphill life of boulders

If I didn’t wear shorts with pockets

Empty hands are okay

As long as you remember what you’re packing

What you take out could be a buffet

Worthy of clinging and clacking

Darling, the way you treat life

Could send men to space without rockets

Even make a wife see the other side of strife

Just by wearing shorts with pockets
