Nothing Lasts Forever

Nothing Lasts Forever

A Poem by TTBoy28

Leaves crumble

at the touch of sun so clever

Yet the trees remain humble

Knowing nothing lasts forever

Gravity becomes a true friend

Even support does fail

When the top becomes the end

There is one who tells the tale

Like ashes from a stem

First full-bloom before withering

Few treat the frame as a gem

Others make deals worth slithering

Maintaining what is dear

Similar to pulling a lever

With input that should arouse fear

Forgetting nothing lasts forever

A tab can ease a head pain

A couch becomes a debriefing pad

Along with the sun is a clear rain

Holding on to something one never had

And with a rush of a coffee cup

Follows are the ups and downs

Only one thing dares to interrupt

Upstaging all by leaps and bounds

Maintaining what is dear

Similar to pulling a lever

With input that should arouse fear

Forgetting nothing lasts forever
