Imitation Brass

Imitation Brass

A Poem by TTBoy28

And when he tried

confidence left his ego for attempting

the task exposed his virginity

vulnerability never a suit he wore with

dignity

allowing his hand to be held

would only go so far before he

needed to cross over alone

Though appreciative

his lips formed a sincere thanks

along with the eyes that saw pride

before his heart

And when he tried

he would try

as verbose he was not

Until he became sure of his situation

his condition remained vulnerable

. oh, this is so beautiful ... i've never read something so poignant and so detailed about feeling vulnerable ... this is the mind map of vulnerability ... i so know how this feels and feel like an open wound a lot ... but your words are so perfect that i feel infinitely better ... thank you for this absolutely inspiring start to the new year ... i was waiting for you to post ... and what a beautiful poem you've posted ... any reader would be able to relate to this and feel empowered ...
