And Lord, I wish it would rain

And Lord, I wish it would rain

A Poem by TTBoy28

Staring out my window

Is like looking in a mirror

How easily things seem to flow

As my dreams become no clearer

Can everything be about me

Or do I just make them that way

What else could true life be

The way I see it all everyday

Would it be alright to pray for change

As long as it doesn’t cause too much pain

Though it’s all in front of me, yet so far out of range

Thank you for letting me feel,

And Lord, I wish it would rain

If your tears fall from above

Please let forgiveness remain

Make me pure and white as a dove

Oh Lord, I wish it would rain

Before it all sinks into the earth

Let the best part float up to You

For that would be a true rebirth

And only You can do what You do

Is it okay to pray for change

As long as it doesn’t cause too much pain

Though You may be right in front of me and in my range

Shine down on me

And Lord, I wish it would rain
