MY DAD I, NEVER, HAD A RAPPIN' BLUES SONG

MY DAD I, NEVER, HAD A RAPPIN' BLUES SONG

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY
"

daddy's lil' girl

"
A dad. My dad. Oh sweet precious dad.
We first met while I was in mom's womb tomb.
You talked to me.  I can't forget the sound waves
distinct of a man.
Suddenly you received me in your loving arms.
A daddy's little black girl he held so tight.
I listened to his innocent song of rap.
Lite musical whispers in my tiny tiny ear.
Some how his song sung another tune.  He
sung, "I'm gonna loose you for another".
Never once put up a fight, his ship sales tonight.
Heading for the shores of Singapore.
I seen dad no more.
Another father won't do; his anger 'tis you.
My heart ache wit fire.
Where, oh where is my hearts desire?
Dad's rap to me is gone.
Wish upon wish won't do.
Perhaps a miracle may or two.
Its been too long since I heard pops song
Baby Crying da Blues.
Just a few weeks, the doctor said Dad
never show'd.
Momma will do it on her own.
She'll do it til I'm grown.
