Ghetto's Xmas

Ghetto's Xmas

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

Christmas in the ghetto
Santa sleigh the slums
tree lights twinkled colors
here comes winter's wonderland
upon the blighted area
never sees fun where people
fight every night

Tiny Ann and her brother
Stan inner city blues gets
new shoes, toys and a
coat under the mistletoe
did eyes glow for this one
night of laughter & love

Parents weigh in for the
cause once a year fake
Santa Claus to cheer Hobo's
row where city folk incline
bout the days to come after
Santa's done n bills is due.

Good job with this Roxane. Many of us would enjoy hearing poetry about life in areas where many of us have never seen. Keep up the good work.

About
love poetry since it has been embedded in my mind deeply way back when I was 4 years old. A very good reader in pre-school. Nursery rhymes tuned me in even deeper. more..
