Can You Hear The Birds?

Can You Hear The Birds?

A Poem by ROXANE DORSEY

shush, just listen.

Can you hear the birds singing the usual
melodies?
I don't hear 'em, nothing I say
not even a tweet
the dogs are sounding off
five o'clock bus arrived on time
even an Amtrak train choo-choo'd
on schedule
How's it my birds aren't singing?
It's not their bird day
nature must serenade me wit whistles
and chirps, to make me extra sweet
man when those birds sing, it gets
next to me and under my skin
I'd rather hear birds sing than
any human fussing.

You are welcome dear Roxane.
Birds sound so enthusiastic. They always sound like they have something going on. When they sing to each other, I wounder what they say. More than likely "Hello!" I guess.

Enjoyed your nature in the concrete jungle. Thank you for sharing.

Hey Shy J, thanks for the kind review and read. Birds make the best sounds when they chirp back
