Cards

Cards

A Poem by Hikari

What a cruel hand life has dealt me,
Am i playing a game with life,
or is Life playing with me?
Like an unfavourable card, i'm tossed into the pile,
Discarded,
Unwanted.

I've been unable to look you in the eye for sometime now,
You were to me as i am to him,

Swallowing my pride i apologise,
Trying to equalise,
Normalise,
Revise, Restore,
Our relationship

My apology falls on deaf ears,
When You said "we should focus on our studies",
I knew,
It was already over,
Too fast,
(I was) too late.

I know we'll now never reconcile,
you want to wait 'till you've finished learning to reignite the spark,
But we both know,
Learning is a life long Journey,
Your life's Journey,
Is one i'll never be part of again.
