Star-Seeing and Open Windows

Star-Seeing and Open Windows

A Poem by TadKent
"

Lyrics to a song I wrote. Wish you could hear me play it. ; )

"

Marie saw a star

Somewhere not far from here

It winked out goodbye,

as it sailed through the sky...

Somwhere on Earth

A little girl started to smile.

It stretched far and wide,

anyone could see it for miles.

Maybe you'll see her,

Lookin' out her window?

Searching for hope

Or maybe a star-show...

Maybe a star-show?

Brad saw the sun

It was a little too bright for his eyes

He only came out at night,

Where he knew he could hide...

Alone in his room,

A little boy started to cry.

Face to the bed,

He'd always wonder why?

Maybe you'll see him

Lookin' out his window?

Searching for hope

Or maybe a star-show...

Maybe a star-show?

Maybe you'll see me

Lookin' out my window?

Searching for hope

Or maybe a star-show...

Maybe a star-show?

I really like this part a lot. I like the whole poem of course, but I don't know, I really like that part. I can imagine it easily. The ending is brilliant too. Great poem. I'd love to hear it with the piano going along with it. :)

A twinkling piano, no doubt. It does read as a song lyric. so that counts me out for recitals.

This is very moving and touching. I like this a lot, enjoyed it very much, I can just imagine it sounding so great with the piano. I agree with Laura, I too really love that quote.

I like this one. When I was a little girl, one could catch me looking for a shooting star or even a brightly twinkling star. Magical write!

This is really nice. The flow was nice to it too. Good job and it would be good with a piano. My friend could help you out. She is helping me out with it. Well this was nice. Thanks for sharing. :)

This has nice phrasing; I love the image it creates while reading it. I'm sure it's a quite lovely song to listen to as well :)

I don't think it would be better with a piano, all I'm gonna say is in your version on youtube you changed the line: "Face to the bed" to "Alone in his bed" or that's what it sounded like anyway and I think it fits better.

Just so you know, I checked out your acoustic version video of the song.... Tad, I had no idea you were so talented in so many ways! Both your singing & your writing are very nice!

Being able to watch the video gave me the chance to truly & fully appreciate this wonderful song. Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed listening you sing!

P.S. - Your voice is really nice, exactly the kind of music I'm into! =D

Well, you've certainly lived up to what is written on your profile.
you've certainly got songwriting talent, the lyrics are simple, not heavily laden with imagery like a lot of songs these days.

I absolutely love the lines about the "star-show". It's really something different, and catchy.
