I Know

I Know

A Poem by Tai Chi Italy
"

Fighting my demons the only way I know!

"

I am not allowed to love you.
I know
I am not allowed to care.
I know
I am not allowed to love you
I know
Someone else has you now and there.

I know, I know, I know
But I also know, I really don’t know how to let you go.
I should want to hate you, but I can’t bring myself to.

All I know
Is this is hell and most definitely
Not fair.

I liked this because I used to be able to relate to it, but not anymore. Reminders of the past days, I suppose.
It's got a catchy flow despite it's simplicity, because it's pure and straight from you, I suppose.
You start off saying that you know it's wrong, and then you get a bit insecure, saying that you only know one thing: that it's not fair.
Beautiful way of pulling off and expressing raw emotion in writing.

We never let them go, dearest, ever. Along their ways to make their own mistakes and discoveries, yeah ~ of course [with inhuman restraint]. And this is all relative to whatever degree one can manage . . . whoever decreed that to cut the tie was "the way?" We love them fiercly with [bound] clutching fingers until we die. They are "ours" . . . perhaps on borrow [but still entrusted to our own heart, our once-protective womb] ~ matters not. Can you imagine yourself saying anything other than "my" son? No. And God expects nothing less. Who, indeed, does one cry out to . . . finally? You stand sure and well-loved, MyTai. You are a beautiful mama.

Love to you,
j

Sweet Tai...in fighting your demons how I hope you win...;)

Simply, completely, true...your poem touches upon the trials of letting go...honestly.
