Scene1

 

Scene One:

               (Curtain and lights come up on a young GIRL, cleaning. The GIRL has long, blonde hair that goes to her waist. The blue blouse that she wears flows as she quickly moves.

             ENTER: SHANNA and KIMMY. SHANNA has short brown hair that just reaches the bottom of her ears. She wears a normal, red shirt.

           KIMMY is Asian and has black hair that goes to her shoulders. She wears a nice, black shirt, and on top of it, a black, velvet feeling jacket that fits her slim figure.

         Both girls look at GLORIA, who notices neither girl.)

            SHANNA

       Hey. Somethin’ wrong, Gloria?

              (GLORIA continues to clean, ignoring SHANNA. KIMMY goes over to GLORIA and smacks her on her head, hard.)

            GLORIA

               Ey!

               (Throws the towel on the floor)

               What was that for?

             KIMMY

              ‘Cause you weren’t listening to Shanna. I had to get your attention.

               GLORIA

                But you didn’t have to hit me!

              SHANNA

              (Noticing that there is going to be a cat-fight, steps in between the two girls.)

               Yo! Hold up you two!

              (Turns to GLORIA)

               Isn’t Cedric, Rani, Cam, Ronald and Nils supposed to be here soon?

                GLORIA

              Yeah…soon…I think…

                (SHANNA gently takes GLORIA by the shoulder and brings her up to the stairs.)

             SHANNA

              Then go upstairs and get ready.

              GLORIA

               But the house---

                (SHANNA cuts GLORIA off.)

             SHANNA

                Is done. Kimmy and I just have to take over the kitchen. Now, go.

                GLORIA

                Okay, Shanna, but are you sure?

                SHANNA

                 Yes. Go. Now.

                (GLORIA runs upstairs and SHANNA goes back to the kitchen. She picks up the towel off the floor and glares at KIMMY.)

             SHANNA

            Be nice. This is Glorias’ one special day.

               KIMMY

               Okay. I will.

               (Beat)

               Or, I will try.
