Mask

Mask

A Poem by Tania Leigh
"

We all have one...

"

Should the mask I wear ever
fall to the ground, revealing
 the secrets behind it; please
 leave it be and pretend
you didn’t see, for I’ll
be coming ‘round
to find it.

Oh I like. There is so much we we spend so much time hiding and there is kinda of an embarrassment when something accidentally slips out. I like the honest of "please don't look" and "let's pretend nothing happened"

Oh, My God, Tania...this is another remarkable poem. You, perhaps more than any other writer I've encountered so far in this cafe, can say so much with so few words. So eloquent, so powerful, so evocative, so insightful. As I head off to take a shower and ready myself for work, I shall contemplate the mask I wear. If I'm ever president, you're going to be my Poet Laureate.

we all wear masks, but i think its not brave ,nudists ,they are brave in a sense ,you know they show all ,no feelings hidden ,,once in a review, that writers shed all feeling on paper until every thing is shown ,to all ,they sacrifice their integrity to lead the way ,when you show all your feelings and thoughts you are wide nude in the open ,it hurts a lot ,but shows how brave you are

This is really great. I have a lot of respect for people who can effectively work within the challenging structure of short verse. It takes a lot more talent and skill at times to know what to leave out rather than throwing in a lot of things that can cloud a specific topic. Simple, straight to the point, and articulate. Very nice piece! Kudos.
Peace,
Chris

I love the rhyme in this, and the simplicity. Outstanding...so many poets have dragged this sentiment, or at least half of it, into pages and pages of obtuse verse- this blows it all away, and with a turn to boot. Graceful. Playful. Truthful. Like music to the ears, this is definitely publishable without any editing.
