Drowning in a Sea of Pain

Drowning in a Sea of Pain

A Poem by Kiara
"

just thoughts and feelings jumbled together

"
The emptiness holds you,
Crushing you,
Depriving you of oxygen.
You're suffocating,
Unable to die yet begging for death.
Melancholy waves pulse through your body,
Consuming you so completely
That it becomes you.
Death calls your name,
The tears offer no solace.
You're all alone
But no one ever really cared.
People are too selfish for that.
Pretending to care is what they do best,
What they most benefit from.
Finally, you find the truth.
You thought it was what you wanted
But reality is the doorway to Hell.
If you kill yourself, you go to Hell, right?
Hence the doorway to Hell.
Everyone makes fun of people who kill themselves.
Is it just some joke?
Should they not be treated equally?
What the hell happened to everyone being equal?
You have no idea why they did it
So who the hell are you to make jokes,
To insult them for just wanting to get out?
What the hell can you say?
You've never been in that situation
When death becomes brighter than life.
You've never felt that crushing emptiness,
That suffocation of depression,
Closing in on you like four white walls of misery.
You haven't been there yet,
But when you do get there,
How am I supposed to understand
When you never even tried to understand when it was me?
